Eyeshadow Stain On Carpet

Clean any remaining makeup residue off the surface of the carpet. Mix one tablespoon of ammonia. Grab an iron and an old rag and mix 1 part ammonia to 3 parts water in spray bottle. Dab to distribute but do not rub or scrub as this can embed the stain in the carpet fibers.

Then spray with a can of carpet rug cleaner like resolve and gently work it in with an old. Apply a couple of drops of hydrogen peroxide directly to the stain. Pressed and loose powders when powder blush eyeshadow and finishing powders shatter or spill clean the stain immediately. Blot clean with a dry microfiber cloth.

The longer the powder sits on your carpet the more likely the stain will spread or set. While laundry detergent is not generally recommended for use on carpets some milder varieties may be effective and when used appropriately can avoid damage to your carpet. Soak a clean cloth in a bit of dry cleaning fluid and then apply the cloth directly to the carpet stain. Apply ammonia and water to stain apply white rag over that apply the iron over the rag for approximately 30 90 seconds.

Pour in 1 cup 240 ml of warm water and stir to combine. Let the solution soak into the carpet for about 5 4. Dab at the stain with dishwashing soap and water to cut through oily eyeshadows. Add 1 tablespoon 15 ml of liquid dishwashing soap to a small glass or jar.

A mild laundry detergent may be recommended to treat an oil based eyeshadow stain in your carpet as this can be a tough stain to penetrate and break up. Spray the spot with shout fairly well and let it sit a bit. For eyeshadow stains just try brushing the area first with a cleaning brush. Then start wiping it into the fibers.

Start by removing as much of the powder as you can before you use any cleaner.
